A 7-month 1:1 financial coaching program for queer and trans people who are done settling, and serious about building real, lasting wealth โ on their own terms.
Be honest. Does any of this sound familiar?
You know you should be investing. You've read the books. You follow the accounts. You nod along when people talk about compound interest and index funds and Roth IRAs.
And yet โ your banking app has seventeen unread notifications and you haven't opened it in two weeks.
You work hard. Sometimes you work really hard. Multiple jobs, long hours, gig work, freelance, the whole thing. And still, every time payday hits, the money just... disappears. And you're left wondering how someone as smart and capable as you keeps ending up in the same place.
Here's the thing nobody in the financial world wants to say out loud:
The problem isn't that you don't know what to do.
You know. You've always known.
The problem is the gap between knowing and doing.
And that gap isn't a willpower problem. It isn't a discipline problem. It isn't a "you just need to try harder" problem.
It's a you've been carrying something heavy for a long time problem. The weight of financial decisions made in survival mode. The weight of a system that wasn't built for your life. The weight of everything you absorbed about money โ from your family, your culture, your religion, your trauma history โ that wasn't ever really yours to carry in the first place.
That weight is why the gap exists. And that weight is exactly what we lift first.
And here's the other thing nobody tells you:
Mainstream financial advice was never designed with you in mind.
Dave Ramsey wasn't talking to you. His advice assumes a traditional family structure, a stable safety net, a life that looks like everyone else's. It doesn't account for the trans person paying out of pocket for gender-affirming care. It doesn't account for losing your family's financial support when you came out. It doesn't account for the queer person who has spent their whole life being told โ explicitly or implicitly โ that wanting more makes them greedy, selfish, or a sellout.
Most financial coaches will tell you to cancel your Netflix and skip the oat milk lattes.
I'm going to tell you the truth:
Cutting spending has a floor. Earning more, investing smart, and building automated systems that work while you sleep โ that's where the real leverage is.
And the reason you haven't gotten there yet isn't because you're bad with money.
It's because nobody helped you build a plan around your actual life.
Until now.
Still here? Good. Because there's more I want you to know.
Here's what changes when you have a plan that actually fits your life:
You stop dreading your bank account and start feeling genuinely curious about your numbers โ because your numbers are finally telling a story you helped write.
You stop white-knuckling your finances and start watching your automated system do the work while you go to concerts, go camping, take your partner on dates, and live your actual life.
You stop saying, "Someday when I have enough," and start saying, "Here's my timeline and here's my next step."
You stop feeling like the only one who can't figure this out, and start feeling like someone who has a plan, a guide, and real momentum.
The things you will have built by the end of 7 months:
โฆ A fully automated personal finance system that runs without willpower or perfect memory
โฆ A debt payoff timeline with a specific end date for every debt
โฆ An emergency fund that is consistently growing on autopilot
โฆ Your first investment account open, funded, and automated
โฆ A Spending Map that makes room for both your responsibilities and the things that bring you joy
โฆ An increased sense of control and confidence around money that stays with you long after our work together ends

Elliot Bruhl, BCC, ACC, LSCC, is a certified professional coach, a trans person, and the founder of Out & Invested โ financial coaching built specifically for people like us.
Thereโs a better way. And itโs simpler than you think.
What if managing your money didn't require willpower, perfect memory, or forcing yourself to track every dollar?
What if your financial system ran automatically โ your savings transferring, your investments growing, your debt shrinking โ while you were out living your life?
What if the pressure you've been carrying about money turned out to be the one thing that, once released, made everything else click into place?
That's not a fantasy. That's what happens when you have a shame-free, queer-affirming, trauma-informed plan built around your actual values, your actual income, and your actual life.
That's the Out & Invested Roadmap.
Introducing the Out & Invested Roadmap
A 7-month 1:1 financial coaching program for queer and trans people who are ready to stop surviving and start building.
This is not a generic budgeting course. It's not a spreadsheet you download and forget about. It's not a coach who tells you to cut lattes and mix avocados with mayo. (Yes, that is a real thing that happened to someone I know. We're not doing that here.)
The Out & Invested Roadmap is a personalized, co-created financial journey โ built around your values, your goals, your neurology, your capacity, and the specific realities of your queer or trans life.
In seven months, you'll go from "I know I should be doing something with my money but I don't know where to start" to having a complete financial system โ automated, values-aligned, and built to keep working even when life gets hard.
Here's what makes it different:
โฆ It's built for your life specifically. Transition costs are financial goals. Chosen family obligations are real budget line items. Neurodivergent brains need systems that run without willpower. Chronic illness and variable income need a different kind of plan. We don't pretend otherwise.
โฆ You leave every single session with something done. Not just insight. Not just a feeling. A real, tangible thing โ an account opened, an automation set up, a debt payoff timeline with an actual end date you can put in your calendar. I donโt sell time with me; I sell results.
โฆ We work with your whole self โ not just your numbers. Before we touch a spreadsheet, we address the hidden emotional layer that's been quietly running the show. The beliefs you inherited. The shame you carried out of the closet along with everything else. The reason you know what you should be doing and still can't make yourself do it. Most financial coaches skip this entirely. We don't โ because it's the work that makes everything else actually stick.
โฆ It's co-created, not prescribed. In our first session, we build your personal roadmap together based on your goals, your urgency, and your life, and what you already feel confident about. You're not following a cookie-cutter curriculum. You're following YOUR plan.
Here's what it actually takes to build financial freedom (whether you work with me or not).
I'm not going to gatekeep this. Here's the honest truth about what the path to financial freedom requires:
You have to look at your numbers. All of them. Bravely and without judgment. Income, expenses, debts, assets, net worth: the full picture. Most people never do this because it feels terrifying. But you cannot navigate from where you are if you don't know where you are.
You have to understand what you actually value. Not what you think you should value. Not what your parents valued or your culture says you should value. What YOU value โ so that your spending plan feels like self-expression instead of punishment.
You have to address the beliefs running underneath. The ones that say you don't deserve to be comfortable. That wanting money makes you a bad person. That a little bit at a time won't actually matter. These beliefs are the reason knowledge alone never changes anything.
You have to build systems that run without you. Automation isn't the lazy option. For most people, especially neurodivergent people, it's the only option that actually works. The goal is to make the right thing the easy thing.
You have to play the long game. Compound interest is real. Time is your most powerful asset. And every month you wait to start investing is a month of growth you don't get back.
You can do all of this alone. There are free resources, books, podcasts, YouTube videos. You could cobble together a plan over the next few years and eventually get there.
Or you could have someone in your corner who has already done it, who understands your specific life, and who can get you there in 7 months instead of 7 years.
Let's talk about what this is actually worth.
Here's what you'd spend to get these results another way:

Hi. I'm Elliot. And I know what it's like to have the safety net pulled out from under you.
When I came out as queer and trans, my family cut off my financial support. They told me that my gender-affirming care was like a drug addiction. They didn't want any of their money going toward supporting me, because that would have implied their approval of who I am.
So I became my own safety net.
I was working at Starbucks with chronic pain, barely getting by, and quietly furious. Furious that I was doing my best, living in alignment with my values, trying to be a good person โ and struggling. While people who had caused me real harm were posting about kitchen remodels on Facebook.
That fury turned into fuel.
I started reading every personal finance book I could get my hands on. I learned about compound interest, index funds, automation, and conscious spending. I found trans people online living beautiful, full, abundant lives โ and I realized that if it was possible for them, it could be possible for me.
I saved aggressively. I funded my top surgery while paying zero dollars of interest and while keeping my emergency fund intact. I grew my net worth by $30,000 in one year while working less, going to concerts, camping with my chosen family, and actually living my life.
Then I became a certified professional coach, because I wanted to help other queer and trans people do exactly what I did.
Not because it was easy. Because I figured out how.
I am not a straight, neurotypical financial advisor in a suit telling you to skip your morning coffee. I am a queer, trans, neurodivergent person who has lived the shame spiral, lost the safety net, and built something real from scratch.
I know the way because I've walked it. And now I want to walk it with you.
More About ElliotThis is for you if:
โฆ You have income โ maybe even decent income โ but you feel stuck, behind, or like you're not doing it right
โฆ You're self-aware enough to know what you should be doing, which makes the gap between knowing and doing even more frustrating and shameful
โฆ You're ready to stop accepting where you are and start maximizing your wealth-building strategies
โฆ You want someone who actually gets your life โ your queerness, your transition, your neurodiversity, your community obligations, your complicated feelings about money โ and can build a plan around all of it
โฆ You're committed to doing the inner work alongside the practical work because you understand that fear and shame have been quietly running your finances, and you're ready to change that
โฆ You want to be able to pick up the tab, take your partner(s) on dates, support your people, and build the kind of life you've been putting off until you have "enough"
This is not for you if:
โฆ You're in active financial crisis and need emergency support โ I want to make sure you have access to the right resources first. I'm happy to point you toward free options that can help right now
โฆ You're looking for a quick fix or a magic spreadsheet โ the Out & Invested Roadmap is a 7-month commitment to real, lasting transformation. If you want a shortcut, my free content and masterclasses are a better starting point
โฆ You're not willing to look at your numbers. We do that in session one, and we do it bravely. If you're not ready for that yet, that's okay โ but in this program, we tackle your numbers headfirst to get you real results
Questions? I've got you.
I've tried budgeting before, and it never sticks. Why would this be different?
1
Because every budgeting system you've tried before was probably built for someone else's brain, someone else's life, and someone else's values.
The Out & Invested Roadmap isn't a generic system. It's built around you specifically, in collaboration with you, in our very first session. And it runs on automation, not willpower. Which means it works even on the days when you don't feel like it.
I don't have a lot of money right now. Is this the right time?
2
I understand completely. Here's the honest answer: the less money you have, the more important it is to have a strategic plan for it.
The program is $400/month โ less than many people spend on subscriptions, takeout, or impulse purchases without a second thought.
Itโs not a question of $400/month vs. $0 a month. I want you to honestly ask yourself, โHow much money will it cost me not to start now?โ and compare that number with the value you will get out of financial coaching.
The financial moves you make in the next 7 months will compound for decades. The cost of waiting is real.
That said, if $400/month is genuinely out of reach right now, please reach out. I have free resources and a masterclass that can help you start building momentum at no cost.
I'm neurodivergent, and every financial system I've tried has overwhelmed me. Will this work for my brain?
3
Yes โ and honestly, this program was partially designed with you in mind. Executive dysfunction, impulse spending, shame spirals, avoidance, and the specific ways that ADHD and autism interact with financial management are things I understand and explicitly address. The goal is a system with as few active decisions as possible, maximum automation, and as much flexibility as your actual life requires.
I'm not sure I'm "queer enough" or "trans enough" to be your ideal client.
4
You don't have to be queer to work with me. You just have to be cool.
But if you're a queer or trans person who has ever felt like mainstream financial advice wasn't built for you โ it wasn't. That's not imposter syndrome. That's accurate. And this program was built for you instead.
What if my financial situation is more complicated than most โ I support family members, send remittances, have immigration costs, or have medical debt from things outside my control?
5
Those aren't complications. Those are your actual life. And your spending plan needs to account for your actual life, including family financial obligations, transition costs, medical debt, variable income, and anything else that mainstream financial planning ignores. We build for your reality, not a hypothetical.
What if I fall behind or miss a session?
6
Life happens โ especially for queer and trans people navigating a lot at once. The bi-weekly format gives us built-in flexibility. If you need to reschedule, we reschedule. The program is designed to hold space for real life, not punish you for it.
Do you offer refunds?
7
I ask that you come to our discovery call with honesty about where you are, so we can both feel confident this is the right fit before you enroll. Because the work we do together is deeply personalized and begins immediately, I don't offer refunds after our Base Camp session. If something comes up in the first two weeks before we begin, please reach out and we'll talk through it.
You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are not bad with money.
You are someone who has been navigating a world that was not built for you, with financial advice that was not designed for your life, without a shame-free space to tell the truth about where you are.
That ends here.
The Out & Invested Roadmap is 7 months of real, personalized, queer-affirming financial coaching that will leave you with a fully automated system, a debt payoff timeline with actual end dates, an emergency fund growing on autopilot, an investment account open and funded, and the kind of confidence around money that doesn't go away when the program ends.
You deserve a full queer life. Not someday. Now.
And money is the tool that makes it possible.
